Ruffina

Ruffina’s story reflects the resilience and determination of a student facing challenges in pursuit of education. Living in a modest one-roomed house with her grandmother and cousin in a slum area, Ruffina’s access to electricity aids her studies, demonstrating her commitment to education despite challenging living conditions.

The absence of water connections in the houses necessitates the purchase of water, adding to the family’s financial burdens. Ruffina’s grandmother, being a housewife, faces challenges in providing adequate financial support, especially considering the high cost of living in their current circumstances.

Having joined the sponsorship program in 2013 during her grade 3 years, Ruffina has been able to continue her education. Presently pursuing a certificate in tour guiding and travel operations at the Kenya Institute of Professional Studies, she faces the additional challenge of limited accommodation services, compelling her to commute daily.

The sponsorship program has played a crucial role in supporting Ruffina’s education, ensuring she can complete her course without disruptions. With this support, she can attend school consistently, overcoming financial barriers that might otherwise hinder her academic progress.

Ruffina’s passion for traveling aligns with her dream of working in a reputable travel agency as a tour agent. This aspiration reflects her determination to build a future aligned with her interests and talents.

Supporting Ruffina through sponsorship not only helps her complete her education but also provides her with the opportunity to pursue her dream career. By doing so, she can break the cycle of challenges associated with her living conditions and create a brighter future for herself. The sponsorship program serves as a lifeline, enabling students like Ruffina to overcome obstacles and reach their full potential.
